Gulag Daydreaming
It's been a real slow week here at The Gulag, but next week will really suck as I have to do another project. It's amazing....I'm the only person that just didn't flat out refuse to do this horrible work and what is my reward? I get to keep doing it.
It's been about 6 weeks since I interviewed with a company I that I really liked. I called a few days ago to follow up and was told that they have not hired for the position yet and they are still interested but they cannot act on anything right now. Does thing mean that eventually I'll be made an offer? I dunno. But with no other prospects on the horizon I just have to be patient and hope for the best.
Besides the DNC, there isn't too much going on this week - which, as a Sox fan, drives me nuts with the trading deadline looming - I'm tired of this win one/lose one crap.
My wife and I's 16th wedding anniversary is tomorrow and I'm gonna take the Mrs. out for dinner and a movie. (Exciting, huh? Well, these days a night out without the girls is a special occastion in itself.)
Patriots Training Camp opens today, but as someone that has attended practices, unless you are trying to get autographs, it's pretty boring. Well, maybe not totally boring, but not exciting enough to go to Foxboro at the crack of dawn for an 8am practice with 10,000 other people. Then again it the only way to see the World Champs up close as getting a ticket to an actual game is near impossible. Still, wake me up when they play the Colts on September 9th.
On the right you'll see a new feature that I "borrowed" from WWDN that shows what DVDs I've watched and enjoyed and what books I'm currently reading. Feel free to click on them to find out more about them. (NOTE: This is not a plug for a profit deal -I am not a member of any online associates account. I just use the sites I pointed to as they supply the best description of the items.) I'll change them pretty often (the DVDs more than the books, natch) so keep watching.
