This Time it DIDN'T count...but you'd never have known from watching it

Last night was the grand finale of All Star Week - The AAA All Star Game itself. I was initially getting very annoyed as I got there as it took forever to get there in traffic from The Gulag plus ending up having to park in the next neighborhood (AND having to pay for it!!). Also, for security reasons, they had everyone enter though only one gate creating quite the backup.

I was not quite as upset anymore once I got in there. Our seats were a little far back but they were still pretty nice. The opening ceremonies were wonderful with Johhny Pesky, Dom DiMaggio and Bobby Doerr throwing out the first pitch.

As for the game, you couldn't have asked for a more fun or exciting game. It included dramatic home runs, great fielding and extra innings drama.(Click
here for all the details.) After the game they gave out the player awards and then all the All-Star players came out they threw up hundreds of soft toss balls to the crowd.

The last 3 days were as good as it got for a baseball fan. The entire PawSox organization from the front office to the ushers and concessionaires are to be commended for the wonderful experience. There were a few misteps, but nothing enough to gripe about and most were not even in their power to do anything about. The weather was always threatening but managed to hold up or subside for a majority of the time.

I was psyched about this week since they announced doing it almost 3 years ago. It was well worth the wait.
