Idiots Don't Need Sleep
It's Tuesday morning and after 3 days and 18 hours of baseball plus 4 hours of football, I (and most of the working class of New England) need some sleep. Game 6 is tonight at 8:19pm and I'm in for another late night tonight. After going to bed at 1:30am Sunday night-Monday morning and getting up to go to work later that morning, I was looking forward to getting to bed early as Game 5 started at 5pm and I figured that it'll all be over by 9pm.
Yeah. Right. It ended at 11pm. I got a good amount last night, but I'm still dragging from the night before. Both teams must be purely on fumes between the hard work, batting practice and travel.
I was gonna try to take a nap when I get home from work today before the game, but that went out the window when as I needed to get some work done, so I'll catch up on my sleep when The Sox do and hopefully that won't be until for another 10 days.. Last year I had the "benefit" of unemployment to allow me to catch the proper amount of sleep (and then some) to watch these late games.
Curt Schilling is going tonight with a modified sneaker from Reebok to hold his ankle tendon together to pitch. If this works and The Sox can force a Game 7, I can see Reebok marketing and selling a lot of these "Schilling Sneakers" to people that suffer ankle injuries for rehabilitation purposes.
On Sunday between that Patriots game and Game 4 I saw Team America. I liked it, but not as much as my friend Doc did. It's funny at times, but I was hoping that it would be as funny as the South Park movie for 5 years ago, but this film, while having some really outrageous gags, wasn't as fun as that film and the songs are not of the same quality except for the ballad "Ronrey" sung by the main baddie Kim Jong-Il, who is voiced to sound like an Asian Cartman. You can wait for the DVD where I'm sure the stuff the MPAA made them take out to avoid an NC-17 rating will be put back in. I recommend Friday Night Lights more.
