Weekend Update

Me and the family had a pretty darn good weekend.

On Saturday I took the little one to the new Harry Potter movie and it was pretty darn good. I liked it because it was so different than the first two in tone, especially when it focused on Harry. This chapter, like actually the books AFTER the book this once was based on, starts setting the tone for Harry to realize that he can't be TOO much of a goodie two shoes wizard anymore and needs to let his dark side out sometimes. It's well worth the $10.

On Sunday we all went bowling. I decided this time for the 5 of us (including my older one's boyfriend) to rent our 2 lanes this time instead of 1 and play "league style" (where you alternate lanes between frames) so my little one didn't have to wait so long between turns, get bored and uninterested faster. It was a nice success and we all have a lot of fun.

This evening my best friends and I took to dinner an old friend that we haven't seen in a long while. He moved to Florida with his wife a few months ago and was up north getting the last of their possessions. I figured it was a good idea for us to meet up as I neglected to tell him that was gonna be in FL last month and he and his wife, as it turned out, was in Epcot the same day I was last month.

I didn't tell any of my friends in the Florida area of my plans because I was down for family business and the only day I had to myself I spent on a "Dumbo or Die" whirlwind one day tour of WDW (I visited 3 of the 4 parks in the same day and spent close to 16 hours on property) and didn't think anyone would be interested in such a day, never mind spending the money or a park hopper for one day.

Anyway, we had a wonderful time rehashing old stories and telling each other new ones. As my diet more or less forbids my going to restaurants, I sometimes cheat, starve myself all day to allow myself to go because going out to bars or restaurants is one of my all time favorite things to do not because of the food or drink but to be able to talk to my favorite people. As I mentioned before, my Wife and I haven't been out alone in a while but when we do go out I make it a point to go to at least dinner as it's a rare chance to be able to talk one on one without the girls around. I really miss that....

and, with that, here starts another work week. Sigh......
