Minor league High Rollers!!!

Tonight was one for the happy memory file as myself, my older daughter, several close friends and some new friends (20 all told) shared a luxury box at McCoy Stadium to watch the Pawtucket Red Sox get their butt handed to them losing 15-7 to the Durham Bulls. The suite was field level on the First base side with a wonderful view of the whole field (especially once the sun went down). In a way we were kinda glad it was a one sided affair so we could enjoy the facilities more. We had our own hostess that delivered our food and drink and were treated wonderfully by the PawSox. It all made us feel like big shots having our own private area. I must remember to write Mike Tamburro (President of the club) and Trish (the events coordinator) to thank them for the special evening. I really hope we will be able to do it again next season.

Despite the number of people it was a really expensive evening. I figured all told with the suite and food we spend about $1300 for the 20 of us to watch a minor league baseball game, which ironically is STILL cheaper than field box seats at Fenway with NO food or amenities. I'll have pictures up on the Red Sox page in a few days once I get a chance to pretty them up with the help of my friend the PhotoShop wizard.

We feasted on Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, Nachos and Ice Cream. My diet went WAY out the window today and I'll probably end up with a slight gain on my next weigh in and get yelled at by my doctor, but it was my first total pigout since I started the diet so after losing over 80+ lbs. so I don't mind a little setback as long as I get myself back on track.

Today also marks the 22nd anniversary of the day I met, besides my family, 2 of the most important people in my life. I celebrate this day every year with just a simple "Happy Anniversary" e-mail or phone call but in my thoughts the day means almost as much to me as my own wedding anniversary. I have known my best friends for almost just as long as I have them, but the fact that all our lives went to such different directions through the years plus the fact that the day marked a special turn in our lives, I find it amazing that we still can keep in touch as often as we do. And that's why we "celebrate" it because despite all the life changes we care about each other more than ever.

Happy Anniversary guys.

By the way, the Powerball ticket I bought to honor Ray was a big loser. So much for karma.
