Hey for Hitchhikers
Went to see Hitchhikers last night with my old McAuliffe friends and new Browncoat friends. I enjoyed the film very much and I recommend it for those who have either read the book, heard the radio play or saw the BBC miniseries. If not, don't bother. The film was made for the long time fans of the book and the film is more a insider's homage to it.
It follows the beginning of the book very closely for the first 30 minutes or so but then it zooms off trying to cover as much of the book as possible - kind of a mix-tape of the "best" parts of the story. If you do not know the characters or the story walking into the film, you are forever lost by the goings on although you do still get a good laugh here and there.
As for the Red Sox and Celtics, the less said by me the better....this is a family friendly blog. I'm sure the Sox will snap out of it and be what they are capable of, but if the Celts lose in the first round of the playoffs, they'll go back to square one and suck again, probably for a long time. If they go out the first round I think the owners will not only not offer Antoine Walker a contract for next season they might ever trade Paul Pierce. Their attitude will be "we'll average 14,000 a game no matter who is in the jersey so why bother paying for any stars?". If that happens they just become what they were before this season - irrelevant.
