Post o' the Weak.

I have not written here in a while, but it's been a pretty boring month so far....and that's ok by me! Nothing great has happened....but nothing bad has either....and that's good.

My little one had her birthday party at a local bowling alley last weekend. Although I'm not a big fan of Duckpin Bowling, for little ones I understand the practicality of it. They all (and the adults) had a great time and the Bowling Academy did a GREAT job with the party from the food to a souvenier Bowling Pin for the Birthday Girl.

Work has been.....work. It's still a WAY better job than The Gulag, but the merger has been hard on everyone in the company and there still alot of adjustment period to go as the 2 companies use totally different computer systems. Last week I had my first taste of being on call after hours, and I couldn't wait for for it to be over. I'm thinking that in time that will improve when everything gets sorted out.

Ironically, I have been spending some time this month planning out things for the rest of the year. I'm working on a field trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame, planned my trip to Baltimore for Shore Leave and to see The Sox play in Camden Yards, and planning our annual rental of a luxury suite at a PawSox game. My first real vacation from work won't be until probably the end of the year during Xmas break, when my sister-in-law is getting married on New Year's Eve. The Mrs. is Maid of Honor, which means she will have her hands full that week and it'll be best that I'm not working then. I'm hoping to be able to take the family on a real vacation sometime in 2006.
