A Small, Intimate Mob.
Last Thursday I was off from work and, as luck would have it, The Red Sox started their World Series Trophy tour in Providence that day.
It was no where near as big or crowded as the huge "Rolling Rally" parade in Boston a couple of weeks ago. There were only about a couple of thousand people that showed up at the State House as opposed the millions who lined the streets of Boston.
But that was the beauty of it. As there was only one player in attendance (Bronson Arroyo) with President Larry Luccino. But the main reason for my attendance was to see, up close and personal, the World Series Trophy. In fact, I got to even touch it. Mr. Luccino also hung around for a while and signed autographs. I had him sign my ALCS hat.
All in all it was a wonderful, intimate gathering and I feel it was a more satisfying experience that I would have gotten if I went to Boston for the parade.
This weekend I am working for the first time on a Saturday and Sunday in almost five years. I don't feel it will be too big a deal as it won't be every weekend. Still I'm sure it'll get old pretty fast.
Speaking of employment. I'm still waiting to hear about that "Dream Job" that I applied for before I started the new job. From what I hear I am still going to get an interview, but they are running behind for now. Hopefully I'll hear about it soon and (Hope! Hope!) I get the job and start before the Holidays.
